The exhibition Atmosphere explores a dual definition of its title: the literal skies above us and the emotional environments around us. On one hand, the show grounds us in the Heartland through luminous pastel landscapes. These works capture the literal atmosphere of Nebraska. On the other hand, the supporting abstract works shift our focus from the frame to the room itself, altering the physical environment, lighting, and mood of the gallery space. Together, the collection asks viewers to observe the atmosphere of the land, while feeling the atmosphere of the room.
