Peter Hill received his B.A. from Albion College in Avion, MI in 1956, and his M.F.A. in 1958 from the Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills, MI. Peter showed his work in over sixty juried and invitational exhibitions and more than eighteen one-person shows. Though he considered himself a painter, he was also well versed in drawing, printmaking, and sculpture.
Peter was the recipient of the Ford Foundation Purchase Award and the Sears Foundation Award. He is featured in the permanent collections of the Sheldon Museum of Art, Lincoln, the Joslyn Art Museum, Omaha, and the Museum of Nebraska Art. Peter was a Professor of Art and Art History at the University of Nebraska at Omaha from 1958-2000.
